Session II July 29th to August 3rd, 2012

Proudly, this is our 15th Season!

The Schedule

Camp begins with sign-in on Sunday from 12 noon. We do our introductions, relay all camp info and then put players on the courts for player evaluations and team assignments. Dismissal is at approximately 2:30 -3:00PM.

Monday through Thursday

The morning sessions begin our unique approach to our camp basketball program. They consist of station drills, emphasizing fundamentals; a lecture one of our professional coaches, or a celebrity guest and games! Our games are different! All games are 3-on-3 in half court competition. The philosophy (one shared by people who know the game) is that basic offense, defense and set plays involve 3 players. So everyone touches the ball, everyone shoots, everyone passes and everyone learns the fundamentals of team defense.

Friday

Round Robin playoffs. Camp-sponsored cookout, championship games, trophy and award presentations.

Comments

The camp is now in its fourteenth year of operation Many of the 90 campers that enjoyed last year's camp were returning campers from previous years. Their positive experiences are a testament to our commitment to making the All-Cape Hoop Camp both Informative and FUN! That a look at some of the comments we've received from previous campers:

"The drill stations are good practice for experienced players, and good lessons for inexperienced players. The three on three games provide more opportunity for practicing what we learn at stations. It is much more effective and easier to apply and newly learned skills on the court when there are less people to worry about. It is also easier for the coaches to see what's going on and to help individual players if they see necessary. There are lectures almost everyday, and all the coaches want to help every camper to improve. They do their best to help the campers to get better, giving as many campers as possible individual attention. Mr. Curly does a great job running the camp and he is a great pal! He not only encourages the campers to be good players, but also to be good people." Carrie R., returning camper

Teamwork!

"My sons attend both of the Hoop Group camps. The camps are well run, the basketball instruction is superb, the boys work hard and have fun. Best of all, the recognition of honor roll students at each camp reminds the campers of the importance of being student-athletes." June H., Parent of 2 campers.

"The All-Cape Hoop Camp was such a fun experience! Mr Curly and all the rest of the staff made the camp one that gave players a chance to play competitively as well as learn new skills and improve their game. All were very approachable and enthusiastic. The coaches were so much fun whether they were helping me improve my shot fake or telling me a joke on the sidelines. Not only did I learn a ton of new stuff, I made a bunch of new friends. Personally, I can't wait until next year!" Jill K., Returning camper.

"Steve Curley's basketball camps achieve a great balance of teaching fundamental basketball, competition, sportsmanship and self esteem. Our son and daughter have attended camp for four summers and look forward to returning each year. Steve and his staff expect the campers to work hard, but makes it fun and rewarding." Jonathan & Donna, Parents of campers.
