Two of Our Campers Make Headlines in England and Ireland
Coach Michael Coleman's team in New Mexico won their conference this year and came in 2nd in the Northern Region. He placed two players on the all star team and one of his player was player of the year in the North/East Conference. Coach Mike was the North/East Coach of the Year.
Coach Jim "Van Gundy" Morse's women's team at Notre Dame Academy is on its way to the Boston Garden for the State Championship. "van Gundy" is the assistant coach and head J.V. coach so it was great for him to watch "his girls" grow and improve to this level. In order to reach the Garden Notre Dame has knocked off such powers as Walpole H.S. Medfield H.S. and Oliver Ames HS.
Coach Darnell Myers' gang of J.V. were undefeated and his Varsity team was 2nd overall in the Washington D. C. metropolitan area. The Varsity Team just won the regional finals and heads for the State Tournament shortly. We had many of those players at camp last summer and those of you that were there, probably aren't surprised by the team's success. The Kids from Springbrook High were all darn good players but also great kids as well.
Coach
Edson Cardoso has accepted a position as teacher and Head Basketball Coach at Charlestown High School, one of the top basketball high schools in the state of Massachusetts.
Coach
Donald Morris, our last year's coach of the Pro League Champions is the new Head Coach at Lesley College in Cambridge, MA. Check out their web site... many of the players are our counselors from the past season.
Doug Pasquerella is in his 2nd year as Head Coach at Homer High School and has got the team headed in a winning direction.
Don Grimes
has added Commissioner of the Tri-Valley League Basketball to his already busy schedule./
